Bangalore City

Bangalore is the capital and largest city of Karnataka. It is India's third most populous city and fifth-most densely inhabited urban assemblage. Bangalore has evolved as a growing metropolis consisting of the most well-recognized colleges and research institutions in India, namely, Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore, National Law School of India University and National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences. The public sectors, heavy industries, software companies, aerospace, telecommunications and defence organisations, such as Bharat Electronics Limited, HindustanAeronautics Limited, National Aerospace Laboratories, Indian Space Research Organisation, Infosys and Wipro are headquartered in the city. Bangalore is known as the Silicon Valley of India because of its pre-eminent position as the nation's leading IT employer and exporter. It is also called "Garden City" for its beautiful gardens, flowers and trees. The city is the training Center for the Indian Air Force, Madras Engineering Group and Central Military Police. There are numerous gardens and historical sites within the city. To name a few, Vidhan Soudha, Government Museum of Bangalore, Visvesvaraya Technological and Industrial Museum, Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, Fort, Palace of Tipu Sultan, Bangalore Palace, Ulsoor lake, Bull Temple, Gavi Gangadhareswara Cave Temple and Someshwara Temple are the places worth visiting.
